Born on June 16th, this ?tuxedo? (black with white front) female pup, and her brother, who looks very similar, will be bigger than a Cockapoo, but smaller than a Golden Doodle. With the poodle father they will be low to non-shedding. Females from a previous litter weigh around 35 pounds, and males weigh around 40 to 45 pounds at maturity.
Their mother looks like a small Springer Spaniel (white with liver spots), weighs around 45 lbs, and stands about 16 inches at the shoulder; she is about 2/3 as big as a female Golden Retriever. She has been an excellent mother to the pups and there have been no health problems with the litter. Their father, a white standard poodle weighs around 45 pounds and stands 21 inches at the shoulder, and is a very gentle creature.
With the easy going nature of the Spaniel mother, and the intelligence of the Poodle father, they should be easy to train, non-shedding, and big enough to be at home in the out of doors. Puppies from a previous litter are said to resemble small Portuguese water dogs, and the one I kept from a previous litter loves the water.
They are around six months old and are on dry Nutro Natural Choice dog food; a bag of this food will be sent home with them.
The vet appointment went well and the vet wrote that the pups were in ?excellent health?. They have been dewormed several times with Strongid T. They have had their first and second set of shots. They have accompanied her mother and our family to our cottage and traveled well and enjoyed the freedom to explore the outdoors while we were there. On nice days they go outside for a while to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. They are crate trained. They are outgoing and affectionate, not shy or nervous. They are learning to fetch.
